Columbia College Chicago provides a comprehensive safety and security program on campus. Our 24-hour Security Command Center includes dispatching capabilities and a sophisticated video surveillance and emergency communications network staffed around the clock. We continuously review the latest technology to ensure we are providing optimal security services to the community.

Our technical systems are designed to work in concert with each other to provide seamless protection. These systems include: computerized alarm system monitoring, emergency telephones in multiple locations across campus and proactive emergency notification technology. (AlertWave public address and Everbridge mass notification voice and text notification systems).

To complement our 24/7 campus security patrols, security officers use a marked security vehicle, Segways and bicycles to provide rapid response to incidents.

Columbia College Chicago has an after-hours Security Escort Program to help students and employees travel safely between campus locations and from campus locations to pre-designated mass transit stations. The Security Escort Program is available seven days a week from 6 p.m.­–1 a.m. during the Fall and Spring semesters. The Columbia Renegades Dance Team is Columbia's premier dance collective that features many styles of dance such as jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, tap, and hip hop. The dance team is composed of performers all with different majors from Columbia. They are a student who ran the program. They perform at many on-campus and local Chicago events, they host a bi-annual dance showcase, and they also compete. Services are available to currently enrolled students. A semesterly fee, which is included in your tuition and fees, covers the costs of all visits!

Counseling Services provides brief, short-term therapy. This means we may not be able to work on all the issues you would like, and concerns that require more intensive, specialized, or long-term care may not fall within the scope of our services. Although students have access to up to 12 individual counseling sessions per academic year, you and your clinician will assess the need for ongoing treatment and will decide about the next steps. If you need further psychological services over the course of therapy, we will make every effort to provide you with appropriate off-campus referrals.

Picture Perfect is a Fashion organization at Columbia College Chicago that produces fashion events on campus with a creative twist. Picture Perfect focuses on building students professional portfolios, health and wellness, and collaboration with Columbia's student body and the greater community. Picture Perfect aims to utilize areas of media and art such as photography and music while exploring areas of fashion such as modeling, runway techniques, and other mechanics.

Here at Picture Perfect, we teach members the in’s and out’s of modeling. Focusing on runway, print, and commercial modeling, members will understand what it takes to be a professional model. At Columbia College Chicago, our basketball club consists of two halves: the competitive team and the intermural events. Our competitive team is made up of about 15 members that have been chosen based on their presentation in our yearly tryouts. When in season, the will team practice at least once a week (practices are exclusive to those on the team) and will join an adult recreational league here in the city. Our intermural side consists of open gym times in which anyone at any skill level can come and periodically held 3v3 tournaments in which anyone who has paid the due can compete. 
Besides just basketball, we hold team bonding events throughout the year like 2k tournaments or viewing parties for NBA games/events.

Known as the Renegades, club sports are student-run organizations that are funded through the Student Activity fee, dues, and club fundraising. Club sports allow students to participate in athletic activities that go beyond the scope of intramural.

The Renegades compete against other colleges and universities, in addition to competing in city leagues and in tournaments. Members of the Renegades are involved in fundraising, scheduling, and budgeting/financial management of their respective club sports.

The Office of Student Relations aims to ensure a successful educational experience for all Columbia students. Through collaboration with staff and faculty members, families, and the greater Chicago community, Student Relations provides support to students with a wide variety of concerns and challenges. Student Relations staff may serve as clinical supports, advocates for students in crisis, and liaisons for students who require additional resources at Columbia or within the city of Chicago. Frequently, as is permitted by applicable confidentiality laws, Student Relations provides consultation for parents and faculty that may have a student concern. As an office of Student Health and Support, Student Relations strives to develop programs and services that enrich the well-being of the whole student body and the entire College community.

Table Write is an organization by student screenwriters, for student screenwriters. It’s a place to read your work and receive feedback from your peers and/or a place to learn by reading and commenting on the work of others. No deadlines, no pressure. We’re fostering an environment for people of all experience levels in film and television writing to refine their craft in a positive, growth-focused environment. We hope to see you soon!

The Columbia Chronicle is the official student-run news publication of Columbia College Chicago. While
providing award-winning news content on Columbia’s campus and the South Loop area for our
readers, the Chronicle also serves as a laboratory for journalism instruction and practice,
producing professionals in various fields who can successfully contribute to their industries.

Divided into four sections—Campus, Metro, Arts & Culture and Opinions—the Chronicle
provides a wide variety of appealing content and news to engage a range of interests and
personalities.

The Chronicle was established on campus in 1973, then known as the CC Writer and printed
tri-weekly. The first known issue of the CC Writer was printed on Nov. 1, 1973. In 1978, the CC
Writer was renamed The Columbia Chronicle, the first issue of which was printed on Oct. 31,
1978. The paper soon began printing weekly, as it currently does.

Throughout the years, the Chronicle has continued its commitment to being a
reflection of the media industry while at the same time setting new professional standards.
